Stapleton Denver Halloween Trick or Treat for Halloween

Halloween (Trick or Treat)  in Stapleton is a pretty big deal.  First of all, trick or treat is on Halloween, October 31st from 5-8pm.  If you haven’t been around for a Stapleton Halloween before you will be impressed by how many people come in from the surrounding neighborhoods.  It makes sense, we most likely give out the best candy and our houses are super close together so it makes trick or treating easy and efficient.  While I’m sure some are bothered by this and I’ve even heard some say that we should “block off the streets into Stapleton” on Halloween.  I’m not sure I agree.  Yes, I’ve spent over $100 on candy for the past three years we’ve lived here. Yes, I’m a little bothered by the parents that trick or treat on behalf of their 3 month old (really?) but I choose to look at it like this.  They’re going to be here – whether or not I like it – so I may as well have fun with it feel like I’m helping some kids enjoy a better Halloween than they would have had otherwise.

Many blocks, especially blocks around pools, or pocket parks choose to have a “private event” that they do before the masses get here.  I’ve heard of folks in Eastbridge that get together and do a Halloween parade around the F-15 pool with all the youngsters before the crowds get here.  If you have little ones and/or live around a park you may want to talk to your neighbors about doing something like this.  It really adds to the sense of community.

Lastly, if but more likely when you run out of candy make sure you turn off your porch lights and hang a sign. Here is a sign that you can download and hang on your door when you’re out of candy for the night.   There are also a lot of events leading up to and on Halloween.  Check the Events page for more details.
